More Canadian Officials Join the Name-Calling Bandwagon

I was wrong when I thought that statements by members of the Canadian Government could not get more absurd than Trudeau’s labeling the Freedom Convoy members terrorists, Nazis, extremists, misogynists and racists!  Ms Ya’ara Saks statements were even more absurd!

Canadian Liberal MP Ya’ara Saks stated that the onomatopoeia “honk honk” was a coded message meaning “heil Hitler. “Saks gave her testimony before Parliament, where she lamented perceived government inaction regarding the truckers. “How many guns need to be seized?” Saks asked from her podium. “How much vitriol do we have to see of ‘Honk Honk’ – which is an acronym for ‘heil Hitler’ – do we need to see on social media?”

Does Ms Saks really believe that the sons, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters of the Canadians and American soldiers, who fought the Nazis in World War II are honking “Heil Hitler”?  The same soldiers (including my father) who came home from the War singing “ When the Fuhrer says we is the master race ,we say heil (spitting sound) heil (spitting sound) right in the Fuhrer ‘s face.” Does she not know history?  Does she believe that because someone on social media says something it is true?  Does she have any facts to back up her statement? Does she think Canadians and others are so stupid they will believe her and not know her statements are false?  I do agree with her statement “how much vitriol to we have to see” but she is the one spewing the vitriol.  I have to ask myself why is she saying something that she must know is incorrect?  I asked myself the same question when I heard Trudeau’s vile vitriol about the truckers.

According to Wikipedia : Saks is a dual citizen of Canada and of Israel, Saks was born in Toronto to an Israeli father and has lived in both Israel (1995 to 2006) and Canada. She attended McGill University for her undergraduate education, and then completed her Master’s degree in international relations and diplomacy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Before entering politics, Saks owned a yoga studio in York Centre (in the north end of Toronto) and was the director of Trauma Practice for Healthy Communities, a charity that focuses on mental health.

Saks has been deeply critical of the direction of the Netanyahu government in Israel for its treatment of its Israeli Arab citizens and the 2018 Nation-State law and has expressed the concern that it is leading Israel to be “deeply racist towards its minorities and … not to see itself as a light and shelter or future home to asylum seekers fleeing war,” as well as its elevation of leadership at the expense of the justice system.

It’s hard to believe based on her education that Ms Saks would make such absurd statements.
